This week’s “Friday Five On It” is special because we have local blogger and paper stationery designer, Lisa Wong Jackson, from Good On Paper sharing her top five East Bay hangs! Lisa is not only a talented graphic designer, Berkeley resident, and active in our creative community, she is also the definition of #momboss. She will be participating in a panel discussion, led by blogging icon Grace Bonney of Design Sponge, tonight in Corte Madera to celebrate Grace’s new book, In The Company of Women. If you can make it, go and be inspired, if not, treat yourself to one of Lisa’s East Bay picks this weekend! Plus, check out the book too! Take it away, Lisa.
The Advocate: I love the open kitchen, prime Elmwood District location and delicious food and decor at The Advocate. It’s a must try!
Flowerland: One of my more recent favorite jaunts in Albany, Flowerland is an incredible nursery as well as a sweet spot to sit and have a latte from the 1969 Princess Airstream that sits in front of the nursery. They serve local Highwire Coffee — yum!
Elmwood Cafe: How could I not include the place that Celine and I first met? 😉 I love the casual, neighborhood vibe of this place. Their waffles, pastries, lattes and sandwiches are top notch too!
Social Studies: I want everything in this beautifully curated Berkeley shop! From clothes to home accents to beauty products, they have something for everyone.
Pepples Donut Farm: Even if you’re not vegan, Pepples Donut Farm serves yummy yummy organic vegan donuts in Oakland, and you must try it at least once. I guarantee you’ll come back for more! They also have Berkeley and San Francisco locations.
