Hosting winter themed dinner parties and cocktail hours, bake-offs and holiday gatherings are all on the busy agenda for the next couple of weeks. And if you’re like me, simple entertaining is always best. We collaborated with some of the East Bay’s most talented artists to put together a beautiful holiday tabletop for everyone to enjoy. From the most gorgeous everyday dishware turned perfect party plates, to hand-lettered name cards made in Emeryville, and the Oakland-based florist you need to call.
One thing every great winter tabletop needs is gorgeous blooms, and the call you need to make is to Oakland’s Gorgeous and Green. For this arrangement, we opted for winter branches and eucalyptus to keep things feeling seasonally appropriate while elegantly subdued. Winter whites and hints of gold tones made the cut as well. One centerpiece and a few bud vases are all you need to instantly bring life to the table.
In order to make a dinner party special, we love the idea of place cards. Emeryville based design and print shop, Western Edition, designed these letter pressed blush and gold dot cards. The gold dots remind us of champagne bubbles, making them appropriate for any and all celebrations.
The dinner and salad plates are made by Jered’s Pottery based in Richmond. Jered makes classic designs out of California clay and his white offerings are perfect for year round dining. With a light blush napkin found at Atomic Garden in Rockridge and a winter sprig, the plates become sophisticatedly festive!
The champagne flutes and flatware were found at Berkeley’s CB2 and the Walnut Creek Crate and Barrel. They’re a great stop for quick and easy tabletop add-ons.
