Spring is in the air and we are ready to indulge in some Vitamin D! We are still enjoying much needed scattered showers in the Bay Area, but a quick getaway down south to sunny Santa Barbara, hip Venice, or family-fun San Diego is just a short trip away. Knowing what to pack when coming from completely different temperatures can be hard, and fitting it all in to a neat carry on can be even harder. The key is to pack items that are versatile and can be styled multiple ways, travel in a neutral color palette and to always bring light layers to take you from fun in the sun to brisk evenings out. Here are some tips on what to pack for your spring getaway!
First things first, a cute rolling suitcase is a must to navigate through airports, and to really feel like you’re on vacation, we love a silk sleep mask for the plane or the hotel.
A pair of nude leather wedges is a warm-weather staple in any closet. Wedges can be casual or dressy making them a very versatile shoe to have on hand when traveling. Wear them with a dress or jeans, day or night!
A comfortable tee is our favorite thing to travel in. This one is made out of alpaca for an extra luxurious touch and feel. The elevated material makes it a great top for layering and wearing over and over again. From airplane to date night, this top can do it all.
Tortoise sunnies scream spring. So trade in your black pair for something lighter in color and with a more playful, yet classic pattern. These ones are made in California!
We’ve been dying to try Goop’s travel packs so a spring getaway sounds like the perfect excuse. There are a handful of different kits to choose from filled with everything you need to get through a travel day. This one has towelettes, face cream and chapstick to name a few essentials.
Sometimes it’s hard to nail your signature hair look while fixing it away from home and your products. Let dry shampoo be your secret weapon. It perks hair up from a day of traveling or exploring and will allow you to go a few days without washing.
Of course, sunscreen is a must all year long. Even up in the air you can catch rays. This sunscreen is organic and lightweight enough for those with the most sensitive skin, including babies.
Whether it be chilly in the airport, hotel or a sudden cloudy day pops up into the forecast, a comfy cardigan sweater is great to have on hand. They’re cozy and can be dressed up or down and are perfect for spring’s cooler mornings and evenings.
If there is one pair of jeans to pack it’s a pair of medium wash skinny jeans. We love dressing in a lighter wash as the temperatures start to warm up and a classic cut like these means you can wear them everyday if you wanted to.
Spring means it’s time to break out the sandals. A minimal design in black or nude leather go with everything from shorts to jeans. We’re obsessed with this pair.
Stripes pull together any look with style. A thin striped long sleeve tee can be layered under a sweater or jacket and it’s guaranteed to look so chic!
And of course everyone needs to travel with one statement bag. We like the idea of it being a larger satchel to fit all of your essentials, and that it is a nude color so that it matches everything you’ve packed. A fun pattern is perfect for vacation!
