A few weeks ago, we shared the gorgeous and brimming East Bay antique store, Elsie Green. Not only do they have a warehouse filled to the with beautiful vintage pieces from France, they have an adorable work office to boot where they fulfill design consulting needs for clients. We got a little tour and let’s just say, the office space is full of stylish decor tricks on how to incorporate antiques into a room — naturally, the team has a knack for updating and uniquely displaying antiques — that are so savvy, they must be shared! Each are fun and outside of the box, and preserve the original character and charm of the piece, and most of all are so simple to achieve — especially after a little treasure hunting in the store!
DIY Idea 1: Create an art-like chandelier by using mismatched vintage pendant lights and hanging them from different points on the ceiling!
DIY Idea 2: House throws on a wood ladder against a wall and don’t forget to add unique interest and hang treasures like art and baskets from old hangers.
DIY Idea 3: Put a vintage chair on a strong knob on the wall and watch it transform from function to art. We love the idea of an artistic display for an unconventional piece.
DIY Idea 4: Forget paint. Line a wall with large antique shutters for a truly unique statement wall that is full of character. You can even consider this idea in the bedroom for a headboard!
No matter what you take home with you from Elsie Green, we know you’ll walk away with some great new ideas on how to incorporate old pieces into your home!
