Revival Bar + Kitchen in Berkeley is hands down one of the city’s most dramatic dining scenes. You can feel the energy as soon as you walk into the cozy and electric restaurant, complete with tall ceilings and archways, a smashing bar, a canopied “room” in the middle of the dining area, and vintage-style glass pendants mixed with strung cafe lights twinkling away. Owned by chef Amy Murray, the restaurant focuses on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and make their own breads and charcuterie all in-house. Most come for a lively happy hour and a beautiful dinner, but we love Revival for their brunch. Come see this beautiful East Bay space!
When To Go: We recommend going for brunch, but Revival’s happy hour and dinner menu are just as good. Brunch is from 10:00-2:00 on the weekends, and happy hour runs from 3:30-6:00. Local oysters are $2 during happy hour and house wines are $5 a glass. Enjoy house made charcuterie and cheese and a handful of other bites too! Dinner service begins at 5:00.
What to Eat: Try the Fried Chicken Benedict for a Southern take on the breakfast classic, and if you’re looking for something to fill you up. The Shakshuka with merguez sausage, baked egg, harissa and ricotta is a deliciously cozy dish on a winter morning. And if you have a sweet tooth, the Challah French Toast with plum compote and ginger anglaise is not to be missed!
What To Drink: If it’s early in the morning, you must order a cup of coffee here. Revival proudly serves the Bay Area’s Wreckingball Coffee and it is smooth and delicious — and rare to find in the East Bay. If you’re looking for something to jump start a fun weekend, order their famous Bloody Mary! It is rumored to be the best in town.
Revival Bar + Kitchen is located at 2102 Shattuck Ave in Berkeley.
